Aircraft Maintenance Engineer   |  M1

Certification   AME M1 (Apprentice with minimum 6 years experience will be considered). Canadian license is an asset but NOT required if foreign license is already secured.

Education   Completion of government approved Aircraft Maintenance program from government agency such as Transport Canada, the FAA (Federal Aviation Agency), the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency, CAD (Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong), CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China), or the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Experience   Minimum 6 years experience in industry working specifically on unique, vintage aircraft. Extensive experience (minimum 6 years) with vintage piston engines is required. Must have experience troubleshooting, performing inspections, creating inspection reports, taxiing and towing aircraft, and fabrication and sheet metal skills.

Responsibilities   Wilson Aviation is looking for a driven, self-motivating licensed AME that holds a high level of accountability and reliability in the quality and skill of their work, and a desire to grow exponentially professionally. Working under a respected industry veteran, you will join a close-knit team with an exceptional industry reputation. Duties will include:

  • Conducting maintenance, repairs, and restorations on aircraft

  • Performing all maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable airworthiness standards

  • Completing all paperwork for assigned tasks in an accurate and timely matter

  • Proper use of PPE equipment and recognizing safety as a number one priority

  • Inventory management and parts ordering

  • General hangar cleanup and organization

Requirements

  • Canadian license is an asset but NOT required if foreign license is already secured

  • Minimum 6 years of experience with vintage piston engines

  • Completion of government approved Aircraft Maintenance program such as Transport Canada, FAA (Federal Aviation Agency), EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency, CAD (Civil Aviation Department), CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China), or Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation

  • Extensive experience performing aircraft inspections and inspection reports

  • Taxiing and towing aircraft

  • Sheet metal fabrication skills

  • Ability to take initiative, take direction openly, and learn quickly

  • Flexibility abilities and adaptability to changing needs

  • Computer knowledge with experience with, or ability to quickly, learn how to use Google Sheets

  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset

  • Experience towing a trailer and Class 3 Driver’s License is an asset

 

Summary   As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer AME M1, you will be a vital team member responsible for ensuring the safe operation of aircraft through your core skills in mechanical knowledge, avionics, and maintenance. Your premium skills in manufacturing will enhance your ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems effectively. Utilizing relevant skills such as welding, you will contribute to the precision and accuracy required in aircraft maintenance. Possessing excellent communication skills, you will collaborate with a team to uphold safety standards and ensure aircraft airworthiness. Work Location: Boundary Bay, Delta BC

Compensation: $34.00 per hour
